Overview:

Tired of shop-floor debates over the inspection of circularity, cylindricity, runout, and total runout? Did you waste even more time when concentricity was thrown into the mix? Join this two-day class if you need to reinforce the fundamentals of GD&T through practical application of inspection techniques. Designed for inspectors, machinists, engineers, and quality professionals with prior experience, this class combines interactive instruction with hands-on exercises using real-world gaging setups to ensure participants can confidently interpret and apply GD&T requirements in inspection environments.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Applied GD&T Concepts: Reinforce and expand your understanding of feature control frames, datums, and tolerance zones.

  • Inspection Strategies: Critically analyze how common surface plate inspection tools should (and shouldn’t) be used for any given GD&T control.

  • Analysis Framework: Build a systematic approach for breaking down any GD&T control for manual or CMM inspection.

Why Take This Course?

  • Bridge the gap between design intent and inspection execution.

  • Reduce costly errors caused by misinterpretation of tolerances.

  • Gain confidence in applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles to inspection processes.

Prerequisites:

Successful completion of EDU-G415: GD&T Fundamentals is required and is included in the purchase of this class.
