Robert Brown joined Mitutoyo America Corporation in January 1996 and is the Vice President of Information Technology and CT Lab App Development. He has over 25 years of experience in metrology and manufacturing specializing in data acquisition, management and analysis application development and deployment. Mr. Brown’s current responsibilities for the company include software research and development, inside sales, logistics and all business information system activities. In his tenure at Mitutoyo, he has been an instrumental part of the design and development of the Mitutoyo MeasurLink® SPC and Quality Management software.
Mr. Brown also participated in the DML (Dimensional Markup Language) Standard Project Team and co-authored the QMD (Quality Measurement Data) Standard with the AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group). He currently serves as a board member of the DMSC (Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium) responsible for QIF (Quality Information Framework). Mr. Brown also is co-author of the book “Information Modeling for Interoperable Dimensional Metrology” with members of NIST.
Mr. Brown received his Bachelors of Science degree in Physics at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and an MBA from the Northern Illinois University. He enjoys music, astronomy, outdoor activities and family.
