The SJ-220 eLearning course will help new users cover the basics of using a profilometer. Users will be taught how to navigate the gage’s menus, apply parameters, take traces, and output results. Experienced users will be re-introduced to features and tolerancing capabilities, along with learning about new data output tools.

The following topics are covered in this course:
1) Introduction
End-users will be introduced to the components of the gage, with details about each part. Learn about how the different components work together and assemble/disassemble for routine maintenance.

2) Models
This section details the different models available for end-users. Learn about what the different models can do, and why one model could be more beneficial for your measuring needs than another. All three models are covered in this section – Standard, Retractable, and Transverse.

3) Gage Overview
Digitally navigate the layout of Mitutoyo’s SJ-220. Learn about the different buttons on the gage, as well as a detailed walkthrough on the screen interface. Learn shortcuts and how to navigate through the menus. You will also learn about the gage’s data ouput features and communication capabilities – all featured on the Rear Plate of the gage.

4) Calibration/Compensation
In this section, end-users will learn how to safely and properly use the gage to calibrate to take precise measurements. Start with placement of the gage, before inputting nominals or other measuring conditions. Finally, after completing your measurements – learn how (and where) to view historical calibration data on your gage.

5) Navigating Menus
The SJ-220 has several menus that you will need to navigate in order to access different parts of your gage. This section will show you where to find various needs – parameters, device settings, calibrations, measuring conditions, etc.

6) Preparing Measurements
The SJ-220 has various measurement menus that you will need to set prior to taking any measurements. The menus (Set Environment, Set Measuring Conditions, Tolerance Measurements) are highlighted, with all available filters and settings listed within.

7) Data Output
Learn about the SJ-220’s data output capabilities, and how you may be able to upgrade your workstation for a more efficient system.

8) General Maintenance
The SJ-220 requires routine maintenance and replacement of some parts. This section will detail the different ways to maintain your gage, as well as all available options and add-ons for your gage.
